BSR Wedding Films

Planning a wedding means handing over a lot of personal details to a lot of people. Here is exactly what I collect, why, and what you can do about it.
This policy covers bsrweddingfilms.com, operated by BSR Wedding Films (Brian Scott Rossen), a wedding videography business based in Dallas, Texas. If anything here is unclear, email me at brian@bsrweddingfilms.com and I will answer you directly.
When you submit the inquiry form on my contact page, I collect what you type into it:
I use this to reply to you, prepare a quote, and — if we work together — plan and deliver your film. I do not sell this information, rent it, or share it with advertisers. Ever.
Like most websites, this one records some technical information about visits so I can understand what is and isn't working. This includes pages viewed, approximate location (city level), device and browser type, how you arrived at the site, and how you interact with pages — scrolling, clicking, which films you open.
I want to be straightforward about this, because many sites are not. I use Microsoft Clarity, which can record a playback of your visit — mouse movement, scrolling, clicks and taps — and produce aggregate heatmaps. I use this only to find places where the site is confusing or broken.
Keystrokes and form contents are not captured in these recordings. Clarity masks text input by default, so what you type into the inquiry form does not appear in a recording. I receive your form answers by email when you press Submit, and in no other way.
Microsoft may use this data in accordance with its own Privacy Statement.
When you submit an inquiry, the email I receive also notes where you originally found the site (for example, a link from Instagram or a Google search), which films you watched, and how many times you have visited. This tells me which of my efforts actually reach couples, and helps me respond to you with some context. It is stored in your own browser and sent only with the inquiry you choose to submit.
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This site uses them narrowly:
There are no advertising cookies, no retargeting pixels, and no third-party trackers beyond what is listed in this policy.
Three ways, all of which work:
A handful of services help run this site. Each receives only what it needs:
I may also disclose information if required by law, or if necessary to protect someone's rights or safety.
Inquiry emails and client correspondence are kept as ordinary business records, and I keep them for as long as I may reasonably need them — a wedding film is often revisited years later, and couples come back for anniversaries and later celebrations. Analytics data is retained by Microsoft Clarity according to its own retention schedule, generally around a year. If you would like your inquiry deleted, just ask.
Whatever state you live in, you are welcome to ask me to:
Email brian@bsrweddingfilms.com and I will take care of it. I am a one-person business, so your request comes straight to me — there is no form to fill in and no ticket queue.
This site is intended for adults planning weddings and is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect information from children. Children naturally appear in wedding films; that footage is governed by the contract with the couple who hired me, not by this website policy.
This site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and the services listed above maintain their own security practices. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so while I take reasonable care, I cannot guarantee absolute security.
If I change how information is collected or used, I will update this page and revise the date at the top. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
